Wyse joins The National Housing Federation to bring ‘thin computing’ benefits to Housing Associations

• Wyse Technology joins The National Housing Federation’s IT Alliance Programme
• Wyse Partners ready skilled to deliver thin computing solutions to NHF members

March 30, 2006 - Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announces it has joined The National Housing Federation’s (NHF) IT Alliance Programme. The IT Alliance Programme will see Wyse Technology and the NHF work together to advise the Federation’s 1,400 members on more effective use of IT and the benefits of thin computing. NHF members provide over 1.8 million affordable homes for 4 million families.

The IT Alliance Programme was created for NHF members from large groups already operating shared service-centres and small specialist trusts, to provide access to best practice for IT.

George Grant, the NHF’s Head of Alliances, said: “The NHF believes there is tremendous value in helping its members maximise the use of technology to meet their objectives in social housing. Thin Computing provides members, with the opportunity to deliver cost-effective and secure IT, enabling them to empower even remote workers to serve tenants. As the leader in the thin computing market and with extensive experience of working with housing associations, Wyse Technology was our partner of choice for the programme.”

David Angwin, Senior Marketing Manager at Wyse Technology, said: “Through the alliance with the NHF we are committed to assisting housing associations in optimising their technology decisions and improving efficiency amongst the members’ 170,000 employees. The partnership will help bring the tangible benefits of thin computing to housing associations.”

Angwin continues: “A key part of the programme is the involvement of a number of Wyse Partners who have joined it as Affinity Partners.  These will work closely with member housing associations, investing resource and guiding them in the delivery of Thin Computing solutions, that will significantly improve their IT communications infrastructures.”

Wyse Partners who have already joined the programme as Affinity Partners are Basilica (www.basilica.co.uk), Eurodata Systems (www.eurodatasystems.co.uk), Keylogic (www.keylogic.co.uk), Novus Group (www.novus.co.uk), Seetech Computing (www.seetech.co.uk) and Servo (www.servo.co.uk).
Thin Computing is already proving to be a catalyst for improving service delivery in social housing. Southern Housing Group has deployed Wyse thin clients to facilitate its expansion and provide a feature-rich working environment for users that will improve their ability to serve the needs of the Group’s customers.
