The mobile email solution is helping the Royal Academy of Music maintain an edge in the highly competitive market for securing talented students. Attracting high quality students is fundamental to the success of the Academy, but the competition for securing talented international students is fierce. Therefore, the ability to respond quickly is invaluable to the success of the school. Chris Meaney, Head of Technology explained: “Senior managers spend time overseas auditioning new students. They are often in locations where there is no direct Internet access, so it is hugely important to have access to email on the go.” The Academy looked at other mobile email solutions including the BlackBerry, but decided on Good Technology due to its excellent security, ease of use and device-independence. The Academy also highlighted Good Mobile Messaging’s ability to allow staff to remain in contact with the Academy and the outside world whilst taking students on educational trips abroad. This was demonstrated in a recent trip to France. Meaney continued: “Good has already had a very positive impact on the Academy. From an IT perspective, the experience has been excellent. We have a small IT team with 900 users to support, so time to learn and break in new systems is limited; we need systems that are robust and easy to set up. In addition as the system is easy to use, demands for training have been minimal.” The impact of Good Mobile Messaging has already been felt at the highest levels of the academy. Using Good, the Academy was recently able to respond instantly to an email which helped secure a very high quality student who would otherwise have gone elsewhere. Due to the success of the implementation and the ease of use, the Royal Academy of Music is considering making Good Mobile Messaging available to more staff and students. Richard Hudson, VP Europe, Good Technology commented: “We are very proud to work with such a well-regarded institution and particularly to know that Good Mobile Messaging is helping them secure the musical talent of tomorrow. The Academy knows how to spot quality musicians and they now have the highest quality enterprise-class mobile messaging solution on the market to bring them into the Academy.” About Good Technology
