LONDON 20 JUNE 2011 – INTERXION HOLDING NV, (NYSE: INXN), a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, has been recognised as Colocation Provider of 2011 by the leading data centre consultancy, BroadGroup, at its annual Data Centres in Europe Awards.
The Data Centres in Europe Awards are considered to be one of the most prestigious accolades in the industry, judged by an independent panel of senior industry figures and encompassing an international remit. The colocation category recognises the best operator in the marketplace with the judges asking entrants to demonstrate the extra dimensions they have delivered to their customers, covering everything from the unique aspects of their facilities to how they offer bespoke services to their target markets.
Interxion was particularly recognised for the coverage, connectivity and community benefits offered by its colocation services. Interxion has the widest coverage of any data centre provider in Europe serving over 1,200 customers in 28 data centres across 13 of Europe’s leading business and consumer hubs located in 11 European countries. With over 350 carriers, access to over 2000 ISPs, 20 of Europe’s public Internet exchanges and all leading CDNs, Interxion’s connectivity options were judged to be unparalleled across Europe.
Notably, the company’s approach to fostering targeted communities also ensured that Interxion stood out from its peers. Moving Interxion’s capabilities beyond colocation, its financial services, digital media and cloud communities or ‘hubs’ allow customers to benefit from shared infrastructure, developing mutually beneficial relationships and providing access to a marketplace of suppliers to more efficiently develop, launch and manage new services and applications.
Kevin Dean, Chief Marketing Officer, Interxion, commented, “We are delighted to have been recognised by this year’s Data Centres in Europe Awards, particularly in what was noted as being a highly competitive year. Our coverage, connectivity and community approach was developed to deliver increased value to customers beyond basic colocation, better supporting their business objectives by allowing them to develop additional business opportunities within the data centre. It’s fantastic that this innovative approach has been recognised by the industry.”
