Organization recognizes 17 digital advocates dedicated to enhancing web development and sharing their expertise
Wakefield, MA and Maidenhead, UK – February 24, 2016 – SDL (LSE: SDL) today announced its 2016 SDL Web Most Valued Professionals (MVPs), recognizing 17 partners, customers and industry professionals. The acknowledgment identifies those who are committed to and passionate about participating in the community to share their expertise about SDL Web – SDL’s market leading web experience management solution, powered by SDL Tridion. In its sixth year, the SDL Web MVP Program remains a key initiative for the organization, fostering solution development from the broader Web community and driving innovation and best practices for the SDL Web solution.
“SDL knows that good software is not only about a good interaction between a person and a computer; it’s about good interactions between people, facilitated by a computer,” said Frank Taylor, Senior Front End Developer, Tahzoo. “SDL’s MVP program uniquely acknowledges this by rewarding professionals who go out of their way to share knowledge, experience and code with a growing community of users and developers.”
Unique to SDL’s MVP Program, winners are selected by an independent panel of judges who identify individuals sharing knowledge across a number of channels to ensure the wider community has access to best practices, code samples and/or answers to implementation scenarios. The panel evaluates each nominee's voluntary contribution to the community over the past 12 months, the quality of their feedback and knowledge along with its level of impact. Nominees are submitted throughout the year and point to contributions made via personal websites, eXtensions community, forum threads and SDL’s online community. Year over year, SDL has seen steady growth in the pool of nominees and MVPs.
"When I came to the SDL community, the MVPs were the role models, both for their technical skills and their willingness to share,” said Tanner Brine, Senior Consultant at Content Bloom. “They helped me to learn about the SDL suite and motivated me to share my knowledge. Seeing the number of new faces in this year's list shows that I wasn't the only one who felt this way."
“We are committed to supporting the development and growth of the SDL Web community and we proudly congratulate this year’s MVPs,” said Dennis van der Veeke, CTO at SDL. “SDL is dedicated to helping brands grow their digital presence, and our MVPs play a critical role in the success of the strategies and deployments for organizations across the globe.”
Once selected, SDL Web MVPs gain free attendance to all SDL sponsored events for the year, including an MVP-only retreat where individuals are brought together to collaborate and work with other MVPs in a relaxed environment. In addition, they are given access to all SDL software, the ability to leverage SDL’s Product Management and R&D resources and are invited to discuss roadmap ideas to weigh in on and influence the future product direction.
