Case Study: TynTec

Mobile messaging service provider TynTec has been involved in providing messaging solutions to operators, enterprises, aggregators, ISPs and message resellers for five years and works with a wide range of mobile operators and major global businesses in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

The company employs 60 people throughout its offices in London, the Isle of Man, Dortmund, Munich and Singapore, and works on behalf of a number of well known brands including British Airways, Skype, O2 UK, T-Com, Gemalto, Accenture and Lufthansa Systems.

TynTec’s largest markets are Europe and Asia Pacific with both continents requiring varying differences in their PR and marketing approach to accommodate their different cultures while keeping the company’s key messages consistent.

Manuela Marques is the German-based marketing manager at TynTec and accredits webitpr for helping the company become well-known on the international stage. “Using webitpr gives us an international footprint in our PR activities and has helped us to become widely known in the telecommunications and mobile messaging markets. Our press releases distributed by webitpr have directly generated sales leads for the company,” she said.

“The online media is very important to TynTec and is becoming increasingly more so. Using webitpr to distribute our press releases online makes it possible for us to make news announcements widely known in a very short space of time which allows us to deliver our key messages quickly and reliably to our publics and stakeholders.

“Webitpr gets us international coverage almost immediately after we’ve given them our press releases and the results are delivered straight to us without having to do anything. This is a key factor in why we use the service. Also their knowledge on the online telecoms and IT online media is second to none and it’s peace of mind for us knowing that they have a dedicated team of researchers identifying new media channels that are relevant to us.”

Manuela also attributes the coverage monitoring provided by webitpr with saving time and resources. “When our press releases are used in editorial on websites and blogs, it is very important to see where they have been published but often very hard to find because the internet is a huge medium. The coverage reporting by webitpr saves us time and also gives us insights into online media relevant to us but ones we were previously unaware of.”

Manuela has been at TynTec for three years and has been using webitpr’s distribution service in that same amount of time. “As a company that carries out its marketing and PR activity outside of the UK, using webitpr has been as easy as if we were in the same building,” she said.

“The service as a whole is very user friendly and the additional elements which enhance the distribution of a release are also very useful too. My dealings with the staff have been great and I can always count on a proactive response from them over the phone or by email.”
