The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has brought in unique online distribution company webitpr to handle the organisation’s online news release activity.
The IMI is the Sector Skills Council for the automotive retail industry, part of the Skills for Business network. The IMI is also the professional body for individuals working in the motor industry with over 25,000 members in the UK.
The year long brief will see webitpr distribute and monitor IMI news announcements to its database of online automotive and business contacts.
“As an organisation we realise that online media campaigns should run in tandem with the offline. However, the online world is much more dynamic in its nature compared to its offline counterpart and so by using the service provided by webitpr it allows us to take full advantage of a complex medium,” said Stuart Brooks, head of PR and public affairs at the IMI.
“After trialing their service and being thoroughly impressed with it, we knew that choosing webitpr over similar services was the right decision.”
This is the latest success for webitpr, which recently announced that the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster, ITV, has signed up to use the company’s Social Media News Release platform and also a distribution partnership with financial publishing firm Dow Jones.
“The IMI is the de facto organisation for anyone involved in the UK motor industry so obviously we’re delighted to have them as a client and look forward to working with them in the coming year,” said chief executive of webitpr, Adam Parker.
