Accreditation verifies that measures are in place to maintain an uninterrupted operation, such as the deployment of tough physical and electronic security and disaster recovery procedures. It also prepares the ARC to comply with the BS 8484 code of practice that ensures emergency services can continue to be summoned rapidly to lone worker incidents. (  SitexOrbis expects to meet this stringent criteria which comes into effect early 2010.

Chief executive David Walker said: “Obtaining BS 5979 accreditation was an extremely important goal for us that ensures our electronic security services remain among the most safe and secure in Europe. We believe this will give our customers great peace of mind, as many rely on us to summon vital support in emergency situations.”
Services co-ordinated and resolved by the ARC’s operational teams include response to victims of anti-social behaviour, lone worker panic escalations, tenant emergencies, void-property alarm monitoring, tower block response and business continuity programmes.

Assessment and registration was by SSAIB, the Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board.
