webitpr Launches writeit

webitpr, the unique online news distribution and monitoring company, has today announced the launch of writeit, a new multimedia service which allows clients to make supplementary information and content easily available to editors.

In addition to offering editors and journalists imagery to accompany a release, writeit allows clients to offer audio and video files, both of which can be downloaded or run through media players (1) installed on the webitpr website. Furthermore, clients can make available other further information such as company backgrounds, briefing notes and biographies.

writeit also caters for weblinks, through a related links section, giving clients of the service the option to direct editors to further information on their own or other websites.

“Making supplementary information and resources easily available is something editors really appreciate”, said Jonathan Dolby, Managing Director at webitpr. “Many of our editors receive hundreds of press releases each week, so making an announcement stand out can give a client a massive advantage and increase the likelihood of coverage being achieved”.

Any multimedia or information resources are not emailed directly to editors, but are hosted on the website free of charge. Editors are then given direct links to information for them to use as they wish.

“Our relationship with editors is extremely important to us, so we have spent a lot of time speaking to them to find out exactly what they want in terms of receiving press releases. Editors do not like being sent big attachments which eat up bandwidth and clog up their email systems, and ultimately waste their time. webitpr is committed to delivering news in the best format possible, so all additional files are hosted on our website”.

The use of writeit is included within the webitpr news distribution and coverage monitoring service at no additional cost.

“webitpr does not charge clients anything to use writeit. We want our clients to get the best coverage possible, and offering editors the use of images and other extra content will help them achieve results,” added Dolby. “Penalising clients for getting the most from their press releases is only counter-productive”.
