Automation platform helps put focus on innovation rather than day-to-day IT
Austria, 1st August 2013 – Automic, the world’s most comprehensive platform for automating businesses, today announced that it has been selected by Carphone Warehouse to be a part of its ‘Connected World’ initiative, as well as helping the largest independent mobile phone retailer in the UK achieve compliance with Single European Payments Area (SEPA) legislation.
David Byrne, Enterprise Architecture Director, Carphone Warehouse and Chief Information Officer, ‘Connected World’, commented: “We have huge aspirations for ‘Connected World’ from Carphone Warehouse. We see it as enabling retailers, original equipment manufacturers and network businesses around the globe to leverage all the expertise and processes that we have built into our operations over the last 24 years. Automic’s automation platform is part of the software product that we have developed that implements this knowledge which we are now offering customers of ‘Connected World’ all over the globe.”
Beyond the ‘Connected World’ programme, Automic is already helping Carphone Warehouse achieve SEPA compliance in advance of the February 2014 deadline by automating its entire direct debit collection process. This end-to-end solution is being delivered using Software As A Service (SaaS) and has given the Carphone Warehouse management team real visibility into the collection process. With automatic checks performed at every stage, Automic’s solution is targeting a reduction in direct debit failures of 90%.
"IDC's research consistently identifies automation as a top priority for businesses that are trying to streamline complex business processes and make more efficient use of their IT staff and infrastructure," states Mary Johnston Turner, IDC Research Vice President for Enterprise Systems Management Software.
Craig Beddis, CMO, Automic added: “We are proud to be at the core of the ‘Connected World’ vision and to be helping Carphone Warehouse deliver on its strategic business objectives. Automating core processes to free talent for innovation while measuring up to tougher and tougher regulatory controls are recurring themes we hear across all market sectors.”
“Today’s business leaders are set on reducing churn and driving up customer satisfaction and that’s increasingly being achieved by delivering new and differentiated services ahead of the competition.
In that kind of competitive landscape, it’s about being agile and flexible, yet the majority of companies are still just running hard to keep the lights on; as opposed to delivering the next generation of innovation.”
“Automic has been enabling companies to ‘not sweat the small stuff’ for over 25 years and we are committed to bringing innovation back to the enterprise” concludes Beddis.
