The 2020 DSA Global Summit will provide updates on key spectrum sharing technologies and provide an opportunity for government and industry collaboration to close the digital divide

Washington D.C., USA, 17 October 2019: The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance (DSA) has today announced the preliminary details for its annual Global Summit. Continuing its push for international collaboration with the goal of closing the digital divide worldwide, the 2020 Global Summit will take place in Paris, France, 2-4 June 2020.

The DSA 2020 Global Summit will continue the work of previous summits, welcoming regulators, policymakers, industry stakeholders, academia and civil organizations from around the world to deliberate spectrum sharing methods and models that will empower next-generation technologies as we move into the 4th Industrial Revolution.

“To solve an ever-growing need for broadband connectivity and to end the global digital divide, which still affects half of the world’s population, the DSA encourages the industry and government officials from around the world to come together to endorse the use of dynamic spectrum access technologies and approaches,” said Martha Su├írez, DSA President. “I am excited to announce our 2020 Global Summit in Paris. Over the last 6 months I have been pleased to lead the DSA and see first-hand the progress that our members are making worldwide to create a new wireless eco-system.”

The summit will provide an opportunity for DSA members, policymakers and spectrum sharing advocates to update the industry on their progress throughout the previous year. With technologies such as Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) set to become fully commercialized in 2020, the DSA Global Summit will be an ideal opportunity to review the progress that has been made and look to the future for how the industry can continue its work successfully.

“There has never been a more urgent time for worldwide collaboration on spectrum sharing. With the rise of next-generation technologies as well as an increasing demand for more capacity, the work towards dynamic spectrum sharing techniques is now more widespread than ever. As a result of this push, these technologies are swiftly reaching the stage where they can and are being built on a mass scale,” continued Suarez.

The 2020 Global Summit will reflect the growing focus on spectrum sharing technologies and regulatory models that are essential to affordably connecting billions of people around the world to the internet. The developments made in 2019-2020 will shape the agenda and discussions at the summit to produce a comprehensive event that will address the current issues and look ahead to future progress.

The 2020 Global Summit will be held 2-4 June 2020 in Paris, France. Sponsors include Access Partnership Ltd., Amazon, Cubic Corporation, Facebook, Google, HPE, Internet Society, and Microsoft. For more information, please contact Proactive PR at dsa@proactive-pr.com or +44 (0)1636 704888.
