Firm wins at the British Legal Awards 2018 for their LexisOne Deployment
LONDON, U.K., 27 November 2018 – Shortly after the roll-out of its ERP system, LexisOne™, in Belgium; European law firm, Fieldfisher, has now deployed the solution across its network of German offices including Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich. LexisOne is a cloud-native SaaS solution built on Microsoft Dynamics 365, which Fieldfisher has used to replace eight other core business systems.
Fieldfisher now uses LexisOne for a range of business-critical processes including matter onboarding, time and expense capture, billing, reporting, credit control and HR. Noteworthy about this deployment across Germany is the speed and ease with which the data migration was executed. Mike Giles, Finance Director at Fieldfisher, elaborated, “The team completed data migration and reconciliation in just 8.5 hours. The slickness of execution is truly remarkable.”
Fieldfisher has now standardised business processes and consistent working practices across the firm’s UK, US, Belgium and Germany offices, while ensuring it adheres to the local requirements in each region. Mike Giles explained, “We have been able to exploit the ‘out-of-the-box’ functionality in LexisOne and from Microsoft to meet the local statutory reporting requirements. For example, the team in Germany is using a number of electronic report formats for key processes such as generating vendor payment files, importing bank statements and generating EU sales lists.”
Fieldfisher experienced no disruption to its live LexisOne solution in the UK and Belgium whilst the solution was being rolled out in Germany. “It’s very seldom that technology implementations of this size and scale are as painless as LexisOne has been”, Mike Giles added. “This is the result of a collaborative approach between Fieldfisher and LexisNexis from the very beginning – but also a huge benefit of operating on a truly cloud-native solution like LexisOne.”
Fieldfisher is gaining recognition for its innovative approach to legal business operation in the wider industry too. Fieldfisher recently won the ‘Technology Venture of the Year’ category of the British Legal Awards 2018 for being the first large law firm to deploy a cloud-based practice management system, fully integrating the Finance and HR functions of the business and making real savings of £1.7 million over five years. The judges noted the initiative was delivered on-time and on-budget too.
