Europe’s rising stars buck the trend with outstanding growth in a challenging economic climate

London, 04th May 2012 – Investment bank GP Bullhound today announces the 2012 Media Momentum Top 50 fastest growing digital companies and Top 20 largest companies by growth and revenue, in Europe. Ten companies have been shortlisted to present in front of a panel of judges, where they will compete for the eight prestigious awards at the Nhow Hotel in Berlin on 10th May.
Four of the ten shortlisted companies are UK-based, which bodes well for the UK Government’s investment in initiatives such as Tech City. Other interesting trends include:

  • Three of the top ten didn’t feature at all in The Media Momentum list from 2011, illustrating that there is plenty of opportunity in the European digital media space for new companies to grow exponentially
  • Ecommerce success stories dominate the top ten, with five of the ten companies involved in this sector
The awards are presented in the evening of the GP Bullhound Summit: Berlin 2012, which is a unique forum for Europe’s successful entrepreneurs and business leaders in the digital economy to meet. The Summit will be focused on: Digital Content, Online Marketing and Ecommerce.

Manish Madhvani, Managing Partner at GP Bullhound, comments: “Every year the Media Momentum Top 50 companies demonstrate the continuing health and vitality of the digital industry, despite continuing global economic pressures. I would like to congratulate them all, as they’re playing a key role in driving innovation, jobs and growth within their sectors and they should be very proud of their achievements. It will be very exciting to see who the overall winner is on 10th May.”
