Holidays: Brits pray for a long, hot summer


+450% searches for tent accessories, +124% for camping fridges

London, 20th April 2011 - Twenga, the most comprehensive shopping search engine, records drastic rises in searches for camping products as the first summer approaches since the budget cuts were implemented.

Searches for tent accessories have soared by 450% in a month, as Brits dust down the old gear and stock up on the extras.

Camping fridges have seen a 124% rise in searches, with shoppers preferring the Electrolux brand, followed by Dometic and Waeco. 

Searches for beach tents are up 114% with Quechua leading as the favourite brand, followed by Gelert then Outwell.

Other related searches reporting increases include camping awnings (+74%) and camping barbecues (+53%), confirming that a lighter wallet is no obstacle to a brighter summer.
