3rd July 2017, Bath, UK: MyLife Digital is sponsoring The Digital Health Conference 2017 in Salford on 5th July 2017. During the one day conference, which explores the sustainability and transformation plans (STPs) and latest innovations to be adopted by NHS organisations, MyLife Digital will demonstrate how the collection, storage and management of patients’ personal data needs to be transformed to improve health outcomes, at a time when trust around data security in the healthcare sector is at an all-time low.
In a 2016 Healthwatch survey less than 1 in 5 people (17%) said they felt properly informed about current data sharing plans, and more than half (56%) were worried they may later regret the decision to let their data be used.
MyLife Digital believe that whilst better use of large scale health data has the potential to benefit patient care, public health, and research, it should not be at the expense of the citizen. In the midst of the desire for data, organisations can lose sight of the most important aspect. Data comes from an individual. It is theirs. They own it. The MyLife Digital Consentric platform is patient-centric:
- Consentric Permissions puts patients in control of their own data.
- Consentric Engage allows patients to monitor their own wellbeing and engage with healthcare professionals
- Consentric Value Index aggregates data to improve decision making at patient and organisational level.
Keith Dewar, Group Marketing and Product Director at MyLife Digital, comments, “With the recent cyber-attack on the NHS and the deadline for compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation in May 2018, questions and concerns about security and use of data are at the forefront of the NHS digital transformation.
“The Digital Health Conference is a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate how we can help organisations and patients realise the value, meaning and power of their data – at the same time as ensuring that the patients' highly sensitive personal data is always properly protected.”
Rethinking patient data to improve health & healthcare.
With a mission of rethinking personal data to deliver change, MyLife Digital’s expertise in secure data management analysis and solution development, reflects best practice, compliance with GDPR and the latest innovations. Using the MyLife Digital Consentric platform, with the patient at its heart and inbuilt privacy by design, consented data can be collected, collated and shared to provide informed insights for research, policy, treatment and healthcare planning. Patients will understand, and control, the data that’s held, who can see it, share it and for what purpose.
