Leading European systems integrator teams with semantic search innovator to provide data alignment solutions for Telcos
London, UK – 1st February, 2011: Today, Ontology Systems and Capgemini Italia announce a strategic relationship to build and deliver Enterprise Data Alignment (EDA) solutions for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) who want to search and align valuable knowledge from the customer, service and network data distributed across their operational, business and infrastructure systems.
The partnership, initially focused on Italian CSPs, was formed 6 months ago and has already resulted in engagements which are rapidly delivering solutions to large Italian operators. Based on this early success, the partnership is planned to extend to more CSPs across Europe throughout 2011 and beyond.
Data misalignment is a root cause of low customer profit, high customer cost and lack of agility for CSPs. Specifically data misalignment results in:
inaccurate Service and Management,
uncoordinated customer service, and
failed system transformation and migrations.
The Capgemini Italia / Ontology Systems partnership provides semantic search solutions based on Ontology’s award winning OSS/CAD tool. The solutions delivered to CSPs provide a single correct and joined up view of their critical business concepts including customers, services and network assets and enable a number of high-value use cases to be implemented using existing data.
Jean-Marie Pouget, Vice President, Capgemini Italia commented: “As a leader in delivering systems and solutions the communications industry, our customers expect us to bring them innovative solutions that drive their competitiveness and profitability and reduce operational costs. Our partnership with Ontology is doing exactly this and we look forward to engaging CSPs across Europe with this exciting new innovation.”
Benedict Enweani, CEO of Ontology Systems concluded: “We are delighted to benefit from Capgemini’s Italia industry expertise, intellectual firepower and customer reach. 2010 saw rapid growth for Ontology and our partnership with Capgemini can only accelerate this further.”

About Ontology Systems - Leading service providers are using Ontology to finally solve the problem of misaligned data across their systems. Ontology's OSS/CAD gives them an aligned view of their BSS/OSS data to resolve billing disputes, find leaking revenue, notify customers of service faults and configuration impacts, and automate stalled system migrations.
OSS/CAD aligns data with unprecedented speed and accuracy, and at a fraction of the cost you would expect. The key to making it possible is OSS/CAD's use of semantic technology, originally developed for intelligence applications. It lets OSS/CAD build an end-to-end aligned view of OSS, BSS and network data, from the bottom up and without any disruption to existing systems.
Based in London and founded in 2006, Ontology's customers include BT, Internet Solutions, MBNL, Neotel and Telenor. Ontology and OSS/CAD have received recent widespread industry recognition:
OSS/CAD is included in both Gartner's "Cool Vendors in Telecom Operations Management Systems, 2010" and Stratecast's "Global OSS/BSS Rat Pack - Stratecast's 10 To Watch in 2010".
OSS/CAD is the application at the centre of BT's award winning "Semantic Toolset to Optimise Business Transformations" project, which won both the TM Forum Business Innovation Award 2010 and Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards 2010.
