Assured cloud provider creates further student internships to support its rapid growth and to help develop technical skills in the UK
London – November 27th 2014 – Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave cloud services company, today announced a further nine places for undergraduates will be made available on its internship programme, in order to help scale the Skyscape business to meet with growing demand, while nurturing technology skills across multiple disciplines.
The scheme has been designed to help develop key digital, technical and engineering skills and experience. These skills are vital when working with large-scale cloud and virtualised computing environments, so the scheme will ultimately provide university students with valuable training and development in preparation for future careers in IT and technology.
The new roles have been created for outstanding candidates spanning a variety of functional areas –portal development, operations analysis, automation, product analysis and marketing co-ordination. The positions are open to all undergraduates and are currently advertised with a number of universities, including Aston University, University of Southampton, University of Reading, University of Portsmouth, Kingston University, University of Chichester, Sussex University and University of Kent.
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing team of talented, experienced and passionate professionals that are developing one of the UK’s largest cloud computing platforms. The internship programme is initially being offered to university undergraduates as a sandwich placement, but longer-term employment may be available following the successful completion of the placement. As part of Skyscape’s ongoing commitment to training and development, there are also opportunities for successful applicants to take appropriate professional examinations in order to gain further qualifications in areas from key technology vendors VMware, EMC and Cisco.
“We look forward to welcoming more undergraduates to our rapidly growing business as we near the end of what’s been an exciting year,” said Simon Hansford, CTO of Skyscape Cloud Services. “We’re passionate about doing our bit to support education and foster technical expertise, as we continue in our mission to transform the face of public sector IT procurement.”
With more than 70 employees, Skyscape has experienced significant growth and success since it was formed. Earlier this month Skyscape announced it had won Cloud Provider Innovation of the Year award at the UK IT Industry Awards 2014 as well as the IaaS/PaaS Product of the Year award at the Techworld Awards 2014.
