TIBCO Silver Spotfire 2.0 Enables Any Business User to Cost-Effectively Create, Share and View Key Analytic Insights
LAS VEGAS – September 27, 2011 – TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) announced today at TUCON®, the company’s annual customer and business partner conference, the general availability of TIBCO Silver® Spotfire 2.0 – a portfolio of on-demand offerings enabling anyone with an Internet connection to quickly and easily create, publish, and share customised business intelligence (BI) dashboards and advanced analytics applications via the cloud. TIBCO Silver Spotfire 2.0 is available as a tiered collection of packages to best meet consumers’ needs – from a personal user to a business team to small, medium or large-sized businesses. The solution offers tiered capabilities, scalability and affordable pricing so users can tailor a solution for the level of reporting or analytic application that best supports their needs and budget, with each solution offering a free trial period. With no IT department required, users can also access a range of pre-loaded templates and a support community to help quickly start a dashboard or analysis.
Today, organisations large and small are moving to cloud applications to help their colleagues get more from the Internet, their company resources, and their data in record time. TIBCO Silver Spotfire 2.0 leapfrogs the typical IT limitations by letting any Web user create new analytic dashboards and applications in minutes to simply and easily build and share insights derived from data in a way that fosters collaboration. Part of TIBCO’s evolving Silver portfolio, TIBCO Silver Spotfire 2.0 streamlines the process of delivering cloud-based analytic applications and dashboards by offering cost-effective, pre-packaged levels of expansive Web-based sharing and hosting based upon real-life implementation experience.
According to Brian McDonough, research manager for IDC’s Business Analytics Solutions research service, business analytics software-as-a-service (SaaS) will grow three times faster than the total business analytics software market. “The business analytics SaaS market is poised for tremendous growth as more organisations turn to cloud-based computing in support of non-IT users struggling with the task of relating and analysing data in multiple spreadsheets and other data sources,” said McDonough. “By offering easy-to-use interactive analytics, vendors like Spotfire are giving line-of-business users the power to make informed business decisions at all levels of the organisation.”
TIBCO Silver Spotfire 2.0 is more than just traditional BI in a SaaS offering, as it gives users the ability to embed live dashboards into their social media applications, including business blogs, online articles, tweets, and live feeds, all without complex development or corporate IT resources. Users can also embed dashboards within TIBCO’s tibbr® solution via a stream so followers of that stream can then obtain and share real-time information. Overall, the software’s capabilities foster collaboration, which allows users to showcase and exchange ideas and insights – either internally or publicly. In addition, it allows users to share solutions and application templates with customers, prospects, and other members of the community.
“TIBCO Silver Spotfire is an easy-to-use solution that scales to meet the demands of beginner analysts all the way up to the most seasoned analysts, whether they need to analyze their sales pipeline, track invoices including budgeted and actual expenses, or examine the effectiveness of marketing campaigns,” said Lars Bauerle, vice president of product strategy at TIBCO Spotfire. “This newly enhanced solution also offers a secure environment for a variety of business users to analyse important data in order to make better informed business decisions that can impact the bottom line.”
TIBCO Silver Spotfire 2.0 introduces an extensive library of out-of-the-box analysis and dashboard templates designed to jumpstart the analysis process for those users hoping to avoid starting from scratch. The library features dashboards and analysis applications from a range of industries and business departments and utilises best practices for data visualisation and information insight. In addition to templates, consumers can benefit from an online product tour, a host of short how-to demos, an analytics blog and a support community.
Depending on the level of functionality needed and budget, TIBCO Silver Spotfire 2.0 software supports four distinct types of authors, while offering increasing degrees of scalability and workgroup requirements:
