The Bunker Secure Hosting Ltd, provider of Ultra Secure Data Centres and Managed Services, has announced that its ISO/IEC 27001:2005 accreditation has been extended to cover its Newbury based data centre, thereby increasing the level of service and choice it can offer clients.
ISO 27001 is the only globally recognised auditable standard that defines the requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS), formally specifying a management system that brings information security under explicit management control.
By using an ISO approved data centre, clients gain peace of mind by knowing the organisation uses industry respected best practices and that their information is being protected to the highest levels. The ISO27001 accreditation has been granted to The Bunker for the management of information security relating to the provision of Ultra Secure, Ultra Available managed hosting and data centre solutions.
Extending the ISO 27001 to Newbury further highlights The Bunker’s commitment to process- driven security throughout the entire organisation. It proves The Bunker’s security and management procedures are regularly subjected to rigorous, independent audits to ensure they comply with stringent standards for information security.
Simon Neal, COO at The Bunker, commented, “The Bunker has always maintained a reputation for security. When we achieved the ISO27001 accreditation at our Kent site, we also applied all the processes to our Newbury site right away. Extending the accreditation was the next logical step. We wanted to offer clients who require an ISO accredited data centre the choice of location and the possibility of dual site solutions.”
ISO27001 accreditation is one part of The Bunker’s approach to ultra security. Its multi-faceted approach is the only way to provide high levels of security without any single point of failure. It calls this The Bunker Protocol™. This proprietary ultra secure process framework includes:
Military-Grade Data Centres – its underground bunker outside the M25 in Kent and its mirror facility in Newbury. Both are protected by integrated processes for physical, digital and human security
Hardened Source™ – its unique combination of open source and proprietary technologies built and integrated in-house from the source code up
Flexible Support – its services desk uses ITIL v3 best practices for all service requests, and clients decide what amount of incident management is appropriate to their in-house skill set and business processes
Our data centres, which are outside the M25 yet within easy reach of London, are military-grade nuclear bunkers purpose built to house the UK's air defence systems. We run 24/7/365 and our NOC monitors systems both nationally and internationally and is staffed around the clock by system and network engineers and security staff. The Bunker is ISO 27001 and PCI DSS accredited and follows ITILv3 best practice and PRINCE 2 project management standards.
Our clients are financial services organisations, technology companies, local government and other regulated businesses that value a premium service built around security.
