October 5, 2015: After a successful proof of concept at Park Holidays UK’s flagship site Cogurst Hall in East Sussex, WiFi SPARK has been awarded the contract to roll-out its SPARK® Guest WiFi solution with Ruckus Zoneflex access points to the largest holiday park operator in the south of England.
Provided by market innovator WiFi SPARK, the new network offers high speed internet access to residents and visitors in addition to service within the communal and club house areas. Backed with a resilient, high speed, fibre leased line and high performance SPARK® Gateway, the service supports thousands of simultaneous connections through a Gigabit capable Ruckus access point network. A network with no single point of failure, delivering over eighty radios and providing service to over fifty acres.

“The investment in this network is significant”, comments Matt O’Donovan, CEO of WiFi SPARK, “We want to offer Park Holidays UK guests and holiday home owners the very best experience, demonstrably better than first generation WiFi services”. He continues, “We anticipate providing Park Holidays UK with data analytics showing usage, presence and location information with technology allowing Park Holidays UK to better serve their customers”
The network was installed and ready for the summer season, where user numbers have been in the thousands. “This has really put the network through its paces and we are looking forward to seeing a significant usage increase year on year”, comments O’Donovan.
Park Holidays UK IT Manager Michael Procyshyn sees the potential. “Ruckus hardware and WiFi SPARK allows us to build future services into the parks. We are reviewing camera, sensor and mobility solutions, all of which can be supported by the new mesh solution”. Our aim is to provide our guests and owners with the very best service possible so they can stay connected whenever they are visiting our parks.
The Park Holidays branded User Experience Portal that guests are greeted with upon connecting to the WiFi provides the perfect platform to keep users up to date with events and services at the Park as well as engage people through the company’s social media profile.
A significant investment, the installation at Coghurst marks the start of a contract to roll out to twenty three other locations within the Park Holidays UK portfolio, reinforcing WiFi SPARK’s commitment to high performance WiFi networks.
