about realwire

our approach

Deliver relevance. Release influence.

At RealWire we believe that successful online PR requires more than getting visibility for your news release on aggregators and publishers.

Don’t get us wrong, we appreciate the value of good Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), that’s why we ensure your release gets great exposure too. But to us real SEO is just part of a good online PR strategy that is all about becoming part of the relevant online communities to you.

We work with the senders of news in order to help them to approach the online media world in this way. Its not rocket science, in fact some might think it is obvious, but to us it’s just a matter of taking real care in all the elements of our service to ensure we are maximising our relevance.

We’ve tried to tell this story with our video about how “Online PR is all about Community”.

Here are some of the ways we do it:

Listen
  • content review - we read a publication or site’s content in depth to establish their specific interests.

  • detailed categorisation – sites are classified on a detailed industry and geographic basis e.g. we have 50 categories of Telecoms news from broadband to Wimax.

  • assessing the response - our unique approach of tracking the coverage that our releases generate, means that we can ensure that new publications and sites that start talking about our client’s news are covered.

Accepted by the community on their terms
  • permission - we seek receiver's express permission to send content or check they have publicly stated that they are open to receiving press releases.

  • personal approach –we take the time to make a polite and personal approach to ask people if they are interested in receiving our releases and only if we think there is a realistic chance that we will have content that is relevant to them.

  • receivers choice of format – email, submission direct to their site, RSS feeds, sector specific Twitter feeds and even personalised RSS feeds that take account of all of their own interests and preferences.

  • no attachments and no html - images and other files are hosted by us and linked to from the releases instead of clogging up inboxes and releases sent by email are in rich text format to avoid spam filter issues.

Relevant and quality content
  • timing – releases can be scheduled or sent asap when time is of the essence, we provide advice where we think timing can be improved and offer an out of hours service to accommodate international requirements.

  • quality checked – we carry out numerous checks using two separate staff members including, amongst others, reviewing for spelling and grammatical errors, incorrect dates, length and suitability of title and release text, provision of contact details and the opportunity to include multimedia.

  • relevant categorisation - all releases are reviewed in relation to the industry and geographic categories selected and advice provided to the sender where any are not relevant and/or relevant ones have been omitted.

Engaging in conversation
  • social media news release option – a news release format designed with the online media world in mind. It includes conversational elements such as public tracking of editorial and blog reactions to the release, moderated comments facilities and the ability to host the release on your own website domain.

  • coverage tracking and reporting – we report on the likely level of influence of your coverage through our RealWire Influence Rating™, provide details of each sites readership and assess how much interest it sparked, compared to other stories in the same sector, with our Release Performance Score™.

  • social media reactions – our virtual word of mouth tracking highlights whether the coverage identified has been discussed on blogs or saved in social bookmarking sites.

Building relationships
  • receiver members area – all receivers of our content are given access to our online members area where they can review and edit the categories that they have opted for and the form in which they received it.

  • account management- all receivers are allocated a member of our team as an account manager whose responsibility it is to regularly review that site’s usage of our news content and to ensure that their news categories and contact details remain up to date and accurate.
